You Cannot Blame an Elephant: Laying an Egg
You Cannot Blame an Elephant: Laying an Egg
An elephant, and an egg it was never going to lay.
Buy an elephant and expect a fresh egg every morning, and when none comes — is that the elephant's failing, or yours, for asking it to be something it isn't? That's the whole shirt, really. We hand each other impossible tasks all the time, then call it disappointment when the impossible doesn't happen.
There's a quiet relief in that thought, if you let it land. The elephant isn't broken. It was just never an egg-layer.

I keep coming back to this one because it's so easy to get backwards. When someone lets us down, the first instinct is to look at them — what's wrong with them, why couldn't they manage it. But half the time the real question is the one we never ask: did I hand them a task they were never built for? Did I buy an elephant and stand there every morning, waiting for an egg?
It works the other way too. Maybe you've been the elephant. Handed something that was never yours to carry, then blamed for not producing it. Most people have, at some point — at work, at home, somewhere a role got assigned that didn't fit. This shirt doesn't argue with that. It just names it, quietly, and lets you carry the thought instead of the weight.
That's the kind of thing I make. Not advice, not a slogan telling you to believe in yourself. Just an observation about how people work, printed where you won't see it but someone behind you might.
The piece itself
Printed on 100% Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton — soft, with strong stitching that holds its shape. The unisex fit has a side seam, so it sits well on most bodies, men or women. DTG-printed, which keeps the image sharp and detailed wash after wash, instead of cracking or fading after a month. Made with eco-conscious practices, on demand — so nothing is produced before someone actually wants it. No overproduction, no waste. The colour is chosen to carry the print without shouting it.
A made piece from Whisper Wear Creations — one of the quiet shirts, designed by ArtTuur. Not here to tell you who to be. Just a thought, left on your back where you'll forget it's there until someone reads it.
γίγνεσθαι — to become.
